Zeolite is a hydrated aluminosilicate crystalline material with a structure full of regular pores. Its unique physical and chemical properties give zeolite the ability of selective adsorption, catalysis, shape recognition and ion exchange. Compared with other minerals, zeolites are widely used as catalysts, ion exchangers, and adsorbents due to their tunable chemical properties, controllable pore structure, and high thermal stability. To expand the applications of zeolite, such as membrane separation or membrane reactor, zeolite membranes based on the interaction and growth characteristics of zeolites have been developed.
